Served in the Navy from 1973 - 1995, and later in life Sailed as a Merchant Marine Officer. His travels during this time included:
The Arctic Circle, Beirut, Bahrain, Capri, China, Diego Garcia, England, France, Germany, Greece, Guam, Italy, Japan, Maldives, Middle East, Norway, Panama Canal, Philippines, Saipan, Sardinia, Scotland, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, and the Virgin Islands
Two special highlights of his military time was being part of a rescue at sea of a Finish Merchant Seaman and an underway time with President Richard M. Nixon and Adm. Hyman G. Rickover (father of the Nuclear Navy).
